Visiting Hours

The main entrance at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville is open from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Entrance/exit to the facility after visiting hours must be made through the emergency department. Visitors are expected to sign-in to the facility using the LobbyGuard system located in the ER waiting room. Visitors are asked to wear the name badge that prints from the LobbyGuard computer.

Primary visitation times for regular inpatient rooms are 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Because many Hunt Regional patients are susceptible to infection, individuals with recent exposure to illness or infection should refrain from visiting patients.

Visitors should be limited to no more than two visitors in a patient room. Please contact the nurse before entering a room marked isolation

One overnight visitor is allowed in a patient room. Overnight stays by visitors are not permitted in the lobby areas. Children under the age of 18 years of age are not permitted to stay overnight.

Visitation is limited to two immediate family members. Visitation may be halted by the nursing staff as warranted by the patient’s condition or emergency condition of the other patients in the unit. The family will be provided visiting time as soon as appropriate.

ICU visitation hours are from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and 8 p.m.-8 p.m.

ICU is closed from 9 p.m.-8 a.m., except for special circumstances.

ICU waiting hours are from 7 a.m.-10 p.m., except for special circumstances.

Only two people at a time may visit the patient. Please remain in your patient’s room or in the ICU waiting room. Please do not linger at the nurse’s station. No live plants or cut flowers are allowed in ICU rooms. You may be asked to leave the ICU at any time so we can provide complex patient care, perform procedures, or deal with emergencies. Children under 13 are not allowed to visit the ICU. This is due to high risk of infection to patients and children, as well as the risk of significant emotional stress. Special arrangements may be made in certain circumstances.

Help us maintain a calm and comforting atmosphere for patients, families and staff by following these rules:

  • For your health, we encourage you to go home and rest in the evening
  • Food and drinks are prohibited in ICU patient care areas and patient rooms
  • Use the ICU waiting room for gathering and talking with others, rather than the hallways and nurses stations
  • Hunt Regional Healthcare is not responsible for personal items left in a patient’s room
  • Please obtain approval from nurse before using any devices that require electrical power
  • Please contact the nurse before entering a room marked ‘isolation’

Pediatric patients are permitted one adult overnight visitor. Overnight visitation privileges may be rescinded by written order from the attending physician or his designee.
