  • Understanding your bill

We understand that patients and families may find navigating insurance and calculating healthcare costs to be overwhelming. We provide patients with the information they need to make educated and informed choices about their care and to minimize billing confusion.

Our hospital has provided a complete list of charges for services and items provided by our facility. The amount listed does not necessarily reflect your actual financial responsibility. The amount collected by our hospital can be adjusted for a number of reasons, including discounts negotiated with groups like Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance companies.

In compliance with the guidelines issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Texas Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC), Hunt provides the following comprehensive list of Standard Charges:

The Standard Charges Files list our gross charges, negotiated rates, cash-discounted rates, and minimum and maximum negotiated rates for all hospital services. In general, it is useful to distinguish between gross charge and negotiated rate. Gross charge relates to the price that is billed to all patients, regardless of insurance coverage. Negotiated rate relates to the dollar amount an insurance company agrees to pay for the service.

Prices are subject to change without notice and are updated annually.

Our hospital has also provided a list of shoppable services provided by our facility. The amount listed does not necessarily reflect your actual financial responsibility. Obtaining an Estimate
The prices included in the list of Standard Charges and Shoppable Services frequently do not provide an accurate representation of what a patient will find on their bill. The prices do not reflect insurance discounts or uninsured discounts. Additionally, surgery pricing is based on how much time a patient spends in the operating room, recovery room, and any other services that might be required such as labs, drugs, and radiology. To get a more accurate estimate, we recommend that patients contact a Hunt Regional financial counselor to receive a customized estimate of potential charges. The customized estimate will include a list of charges for the services generally performed for specific procedures, tests, or surgeries and will also apply insurance and uninsured discounts. Please use the following link to request an estimate:

The amounts generated by this process are estimates only and are not a guarantee of insurance payment or benefits. Your insurance benefits will ultimately determine the amount owed (including deductibles, copay, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximums). To prepare for an upcoming visit, we encourage you to contact your insurance provider.

If you have questions about your financial responsibility, please contact a financial counselor at 903-408-5012.

Disclaimer: While we make every effort to ensure accuracy of our quotes, medical care and diagnostic testing can change at the time of service. This estimate is based on the average cost of these services. Since each person's health needs vary, the price given is only an estimate and will depend on the individual's specific situation. All professional charges (i.e., radiologists; anesthesiologists; and pathologists) are billed separately and are not included in this estimate.
