The Hunt Memorial Hospital District board of directors has announced the selection of Steven Lee Boles, Jr. as the new chief executive officer for the district. With more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, Boles has served as the chief financial officer for Hunt Regional Healthcare since March 2015. As part of the administrative team, Boles’ responsibilities included overall financial operations of the district, budget development, government reimbursement issues, financial reporting, accounting matters, and accountability meetings with the board.

A local high school senior was recognized at a May 27 luncheon as the recipient of the R. Irvin Morgan Scholarship. The scholarship honors the late Dr. Morgan who was the longstanding chief of pathology at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville. Alyssa Haddock, Commerce High School class of 2021 salutatorian, was selected as this year’s lone recipient and received the full $5000 scholarship.

Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville received their first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by Pfizer on Thursday, Dec. 17. They are among the first in North Texas to receive the vaccine. Employee health nurse Shanon Young, RN, administered the first dose to William Winn, DO, medical director of acute rehab and rehabilitation services. The initial allotment of 975 initial doses will be distributed to health care workers in direct contact with COVID patients.
