Hunt Regional Awarded Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission

The Joint Commission National Quality ApprovalGreenville, TX – What is the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval? It is a nationally recognized distinction voluntarily earned by select healthcare providers. An organization that achieves The Gold Seal of Approval shows its commitment to holding itself accountable to a high bar for quality and safety for those they serve.

Hunt Regional Healthcare staff and services, including Hunt Regional Medical Center, both free standing ERs in Commerce and Quinlan, Urgent Care Greenville, Family Medicine Greenville, all outpatient physical therapy centers, Open Imaging in Greenville and Rockwall, and Hunt Regional Home Care participated in a 4 day survey last April. Our accreditation notification was received in July, but is dated April 6, 2023—the date our survey was completed.

“As a health care accreditor, The Joint Commission works with health care organizations across settings to help improve patient safety and quality of care through our expert resources and tools, innovative solutions and rigorous standards,” says Deborah Ryan, MS, RN, interim executive vice president, Accreditation and Certification Operations, The Joint Commission. “We commend Hunt Regional for its commitment to advance safety and quality for all patients.”

“Our TJC survey went very smoothly,” states Brandi Isham, Hunt Regional Healthcare Vice President of Quality. “There were six surveyors onsite during the course of the four day survey to evaluate our overall safety practices throughout the organization. They were all very impressed by the processes that we have in place and the overall preparedness of the organization. They complemented the knowledge base of our staff and the excellent care that they provide to patients.”

The survey must be completed every three years. Brandi Isham and the Quality Department work to keep the entire organization “survey ready” at all times. The accreditation is a great achievement for the organization.
