Hand hygiene is the first line of defense against infection in health care. Hand hygiene in hospitals is not just a matter of cleanliness but a critical practice to safeguard the health and well-being of patients, prevent infections, and uphold professional standards in healthcare delivery.
Here at Hunt Regional, hand hygiene compliance observers monitor our compliance. They ensure that each unit provides at least 200 compliance observations every month. Our hand hygiene compliance rate for 2023 exceeded the Joint Commission’s recommendation of at least 80%.
