Cardiac Diagnoses, Therapies & Rehabilitation

The cardiopulmonary team at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville provides diagnostic tests and respiratory therapy to help your doctor diagnose and manage a variety of heart/lung conditions, such as:

  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Heart attack
  • Pneumonia
  • Other cardiopulmonary disorders

If you have experienced symptoms of a cardiac event, or an electrocardiogram (EKG) in your doctor’s office suggests you may have a condition requiring advanced evaluation, you may be referred to our cardiovascular services center. The facility offers cardiac catheterization and less-invasive MRA exams, which is a form of cardiac imaging that does not involve a hospital stay. Our high-speed, state-of-the-art imaging machine performs the procedure in a comfortable environment, and you are soon on your way home.

If a change in your lifestyle is prescribed to reduce your risk of heart problems, the Mary Rich Lynch Cardiac Rehabilitation Center can provide the help you need. Whether you are trying to prevent a cardiac incident or recovering from one, we offer rehabilitation programs to promote the right behaviors and help you and your family adapt to a new lifestyle.

A cardiac CT scan for coronary calcium is a non-invasive way of identifying the location and extent of calcified plaque in the coronary arteries. Because calcium is a marker of coronary artery disease (CAD), the amount of calcium detected on a cardiac CT scan is a convenient way of evaluating whether you may be at increased risk for heart attack.

For ongoing heart care, we also offer a CHF Telemanagement program. This home-based program provides daily monitoring of vital signs if you have been diagnosed with congestive heart failure (CHF), a disease that occurs when the heart does not pump efficiently enough to meet the body's needs. The daily monitoring helps your doctor design treatments that will reduce fatigue, shortness of breath, and tissue swelling to enhance your energy level and overall health from the comfort of your own home.
