Page Content

Child in speech therapy sessionA child who feels like he or she is without a voice can suffer from low self-esteem. An inability to communicate often makes it difficult to share ideas, ask for things, make friends and participate in group activities. We are here to help.

Our outpatient Pediatric Speech Therapy program in Greenville helps treat young patients with speech, language, cognitive communication and swallowing disorders. With the help of our pediatric speech pathologist, programs are developed to ensure that each child reaches his/her highest possible level of functional communication.

Speech Therapy Tailored to Each Child’s Needs

After an initial evaluation with your child, our team will develop an individualized pediatric speech therapy program focused on one or more of the following areas:

  • Articulation: Pronouncing sounds to make words
  • Auditory Processing: How the brain processes information that it hears
  • Cognitive Impairments: Disruptions in the ability to think, put together ideas, concentrate, reason and remember
  • Expressive Language: The ability to communicate wants, needs, thoughts and ideas
  • Fluency Disorders: Disruption of the fluency of speech (i.e. stuttering)
  • Oral Motor Weakness: Weakness of the tongue, jaw, lips and facial muscles
