First Responders in Hunt County Texas

First Responder personnel are among those most likely to arrive first and assist at the scene of an emergency. These emergency medical service (EMS) professionals are trained to perform procedures to sustain an injured or critically ill person until ambulance transport arrives.

  • Commerce Emergency Corps*
  • Commerce Fire Department

  • Lone Oak Volunteer Fire Department
  • Merit Volunteer Fire Department
  • Quinlan Volunteer Fire Department
  • Tawakoni South Fire Department
  • Union Valley Volunteer Fire Department
  • West Tawakoni Volunteer Fire Department
  • Wolfe City Volunteer Fire Department

* These units also provide motor vehicle accident rescue service

To be authorized as first responders, they must be trained in basic emergency care. Many of the units listed above include advanced emergency medical technicians (EMT) and paramedics who can provide advanced emergency care.

Many members of Hunt County’s first response team are trained volunteers who freely give their time and expertise to assist in emergency situations.
