Temporary communication outage November 10

November 10, 2021

Hunt Regional Healthcare will experience an organization-wide communication outage next week as it updates its core system. The outage will affect phone and internet capabilities at Hunt Regional Medical Center as well as outpatient and off-site facilities.

The outage will take place Wednesday, November 10, from the hours of 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. while the upgrade takes place. Internal emergency phone service will be available, however, Hunt Regional asks that patients and family members refrain from calling during this time period to help with the transition.

The outage is necessary as the information systems department works to upgrade the hospital’s core system to prevent future issues.

“Our core can be thought of as the brain of our infrastructure. It is how all things electronically communicate within the hospital and outside the hospital. By proactively upgrading our system, we are able to prevent future issues. The outage will allow for less potential disruption to the public in the future,” said Teresa McNeil, information systems and telecom director for Hunt Regional Healthcare.

If you experience an emergency during the outage, please call 911. For more information about Hunt Regional Healthcare and its services, visit
