Alex Barney, DPM, and Hang Nguyen, DPM have begun their first year of residency at Hunt Regional Medical Center. This CPME- approved podiatric residency program is under the direction of Drs. Steven and Paul Brancheau.
During the three-year program, podiatry residents will be exposed to podiatric surgery, orthopedic surgery, emergency room protocol, and techniques, therapy, radiology, pathology, internal medicine, plastics, vascular, anesthesiology, wound care, behavioral health, and podiatric office rotations. Upon completion of the program, the podiatry residents will be able to enter practice with a firm background and understanding of those principles required in the successful practice of podiatric medicine and surgery.
Currently, Hunt Regional has six podiatry residents who, in addition to assisting in clinic and surgery, run a weekly clinic that offers follow-up on foot-trauma treatment, post-surgery examinations, diabetic foot care, and general wound care every Wednesday in the Wound Care Center located at Hunt Regional Medical Center, Greenville, TX.
