Hunt Regional Healthcare, serving the communities of Northeast Texas, and Cerner Corporation (NASDAQ: CERN), a global healthcare technology company, are teaming to implement new technologies to enhance patient care and communications and the caregiver experience. Their adoption of Cerner Millennium® electronic health record (EHR) across all facilities will help ensure a patient’s latest health information is available no matter which Hunt Regional Healthcare facility or caregiver they visit. The organization will use the Cerner CommunityWorks delivery model.
“We are excited to begin our collaboration with Cerner,” said Lee Boles, president and CEO, Hunt Regional Healthcare.
“Hunt Regional’s investment in Cerner will help us continue to deliver high-quality patient care and to remain one of the leading healthcare systems in our region.”
Teaming with Cerner gives Hunt Regional a direct relationship with the largest global EHR company by acute hospital market share. It will provide stability by consolidating multiple platforms into one EHR across the organization.
Hunt Regional and its patients also will benefit from Cerner’s big data platform, HealtheIntent®, which aggregates and normalizes disparate data from EHRs, claims and other sources to create a single, comprehensive record for each patient. Cerner technology offers caregivers a complete and near real-time view of a patient’s health history. By connecting this information across all Hunt Regional facilities, caregivers can deliver an optimal patient experience and close gaps in care.
“Cerner is excited to collaborate with Hunt Regional Healthcare in their journey to migrate onto one, integrated clinical and financial system,” said Andy Fisher, executive director of client relationships, Cerner.
“We look forward to being part of their growth strategy in the DFW market and supporting them in the years ahead as they live their mission to continually improve the health of the people in the communities they serve by providing quality, cost-effective and service-oriented care.”
