L3Harris presented with Harold Curtis Friend of the Foundation Award
The Music is the Best Medicine Foundation Gala, hosted by the Hunt Regional Healthcare Foundation, took a digital route this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Through virtual giving, the foundation raised funds to benefit the Truett and Margaret Crim Maternity Center in Greenville.
The Harold Curtis Friend of the Foundation Award was presented to L3Harris. Usually given at the annual gala, this year’s award was presented at Hunt Regional Medical Center to president Billy Irby. Foundation director Lisa Hill and assistant director Katie McKenna presented the award, along with Hunt Regional CEO Richard Carter, Leah Curtis, daughter of the late Harold Curtis, and foundation chair Beth McBride.
L3Harris is known throughout the Greenville area for its commitment to philanthropy. Their selection as this year’s award recipient was based on their ongoing support of the hospital and the foundation’s efforts to encourage healthier communities by advancing healthcare in Hunt County.
“Each year, L3Harris provides financial support through contributions to Bras for the Cause and our annual gala. We are pleased to show our appreciation for all they do by presenting them with the Harold Curtis award,” said Hill.
The award is presented annually in memory of Harold Curtis, who spent more than 50 years serving as the hospital’s legal counsel and devoted countless hours to helping create the foundation. After his death in 2006, an award was created to honor those who have followed his path by dedicating their time, talent, and financial resources to meet the needs of others through the foundation.
