Clinical Laboratories

Hunt Regional Medical Center at Greenville’s full-service laboratory is a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) certified laboratory accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the nation’s leading accrediting agencies for clinical laboratories.

Hunt Regional Community Hospital in Commerce is also CLIA certified and is accredited by COLA, an accrediting agency most often used by smaller laboratories but with the same high standards.

Research indicates that more than 70% of treatment decisions are based on laboratory testing results. Our highly skilled, certified clinical laboratory scientists complete either two year or four-year programs where they learn to aid physicians in the diagnosis of illness using the latest technology.

Our labs perform a full range of inpatient and outpatient services including:

• Chemistry
• Hematology
• Microbiology
• Serology
• Pathology (through Pathology Associates)
  

More than 450,000 tests are performed annually by the professionals in the Hunt Regional Clinical Laboratories including services performed at Hunt Regional Medical Center, Hunt Regional Community Hospital at Commerce, and Quick+Care in south Greenville.

Specialized tests not performed on site are primarily referred to Mayo Medical Laboratories, an affiliate of the Mayo Clinic.

Mayo Medical Laboratories also partners with the Hunt Regional Healthcare laboratories in providing outreach services to physicians requiring testing for patients in their offices. The advantage of this relationship is consolidation and easier access to patient medical records should a hospital stay become necessary.
